Louis Tuttle murder: Two men accused of committing the first murder in Springfield were back in court Wednesday. Police found a pistol under the passenger seat of the car, but they don’t know who the gun belongs to. Regardless of whose gun it is, both men face 20 to 60 years in prison.
Taylorville school changes: Students in Taylorville schools may see changes, including middle and high school students with an eight-section day, fewer classrooms for kindergarten through second grade and job cuts. The moves are part of cost-saving efforts.
No day care solution: A Senate hearing is attempting to plug a $300 million hole in Illinois’ child care crisis. Some senators are hopeful that the committee will find the funding to keep day cares open before Gov. Bruce Rauner’s Feb. 18 budget address.
