Lady Loggers fall in overtime against Parkland Cobras

In a game against the rival, Parkland Cobras, Lincoln Land has their sights set on taking the Cobras down. Logger’s women’s basketball team started out aggressive in the early portion of the first half.

Things started to unravel for the Loggers as the second half came into sights.  Parkland Cobras fought a comeback with 11 unanswered points to go into half and take the lead over the Loggers.

Coming back into the third period, the Cobras were extra motivated. Parkland continued to outscore Lincoln Land early in the third. Halfway through the third, Loggers started to become aggressive and picked up some offense.

Loggers came back to tie the game up with several fouls against Parkland at 35.  After catching up with Parkland on the scoreboard, Lincoln Land had costly fouls and turnovers to give momentum back to the Cobras.

Throughout the final period, Logger’s played aggressively and stayed in contention with Parkland.  And with time running out, Logger’s Nicole Robinson shot from the arch pushes the game to overtime.

As the game went into an extra period, Logger’s played into an uphill battle in overtime.  Parkland was able to capitalize on 5 extra points, but Lincoln Land struggled to get anything going.

Lincoln Land’s Brooke Ferree put the ball into the bucket for the only score for the Loggers in overtime.  Loggers fell to Parkland Cobra by a score of 68 to 65.

Following the game, Head Coach Albert said: “Today’s game was a tough loss for us.”  Coach Albert was happy with the team’s effort and determination to come back from a slight deficit going into the half.
