SPRINGFIELD – Ever since Zayn Malik left One Direction he still wanted to make his own music with his own sound. Malik wanted freedom to do his own music but One Direction’s management Modest! didn’t approve of his sound that he wanted. Malik left One Direction on Mar. 25, 2015., without giving any real explanation to why he left the band. He then finally tweeted from his Twitter page stating why he left on Jul. 29, 2015. His tweet read: “I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who I really am! #realmusic #RCA!!” He signed with RCA to get his solo career started.

His fans are glad he has not given up on music, and will be able to express himself the way he wants.  Malik’s first single is Pillow Talk with 149,132,000+ views being played everywhere and it is amazing. He said in an interview that it’s “dirty and raw”. Next for Malik’s career he guessed on The Tonight show with Jimmy Fallon and debuted a new single to gush over called “It’s You.”

This month, Malik dropped another single called “Like I Would.” He teased fans on his Twitter with some lyrics of the new song and pictures of the new music video.

Malik’s sound is R&B and it sounds amazing, and is still singing those heavenly high notes. It is a much different sound from him singing One Direction songs. He has opened up more with his soul and his lyrics are emotional and relatable. His album is titled “Mind of Mine,” and it comes out on the anniversary of the day he departed One Direction one year ago on Mar. 25.

He said instead of looking at it as a sad day look at it as a good day, like a sign. So, look for “Mind of Mine” when it drops that day and listen to his singles; you won’t regret it.
