SPRINGFIELD – Does anyone remember 1996? For some 18- and 19-year-olds, they weren’t born yet. For others though, they might remember visiting Chick-Fil-A before its departure that year from White Oaks Mall.
But on March 10, 2016, it returned to much fanfare. Although it’s not in the mall, it’s a freestanding building at the edge by Longhorn Steakhouse.
Chick-Fil-A fans remember the tender, juicy sandwich and its famous waffle fries.
Until recently, the closest place to find a Chick-Fil-A was St. Louis.
Charissa Brown, a huge fan of the eatery, said she would drive there just to eat at Chick-Fil-A.
People visiting in the next few weeks are likely to find large lines, but they will also find a kid-friendly environment with a play area.
