College provides student resources

Lincoln Land Community College offers a number of helpful social services to its students. Among those less known about is the Food Pantry. Located in Room 0008 within the Student Life Offices in lower level Menard Hall, this pantry has 3 goals: (source LLCC website)

  1. Provide food resources to students experiencing food insecurity
  2. Provide community resources and referrals that can further assist Students’ needs
  3. Provide  personal care and hygiene items as supplies are available

The LLCC Food pantry is open four days per week, and its hours are as follows:

Monday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Tuesday: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Wednesday: 1-5 p.m.

Thursday 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

The pantry is always accepting donations and relies on them to serve as many students as possible, a list of suggested donation items (both food and hygiene items) is available on Lincoln Land’s website.

Another of Lincoln Land’s social services is the Lactation Room. In an effort to provide privacy for nursing mothers, Lincoln Land offers a locked room available for use by contacting the Student Life Office at 217-786-2241. In 2015, the College received the “Breastfeeding is smart business” award from the West Central Illinois Breastfeeding task force to honor the decision to include this room on campus.
