The Lincoln Loggers women’s basketball team defeated Kaskaskia College 92-50 this week at Cass Gym. The Loggers saw an impressive 1st quarter with Tori Oaks put up six points early to give the team an early lead. Kaskaskia fought their way back, at one point closing the scoring gap to just seven points at 24-17. Things in the 2nd half were considerably more difficult for Kaskaskia as the visiting team was held to a combined 13 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Four players for the Loggers scored in double-digits during the game. The Loggers were led by freshman Emily Meidel with 17 points, Tori Oaks with 16, Maclayne Taylor at 13 and Christina Walker with 11 points. Cassi Kraft led the Loggers with seven rebounds while Taylor and Meidel each pulled down five. “This was a good first game. It definitely had a different feel, but we were so excited to play.” Stated Logger coach Chad Jones.

The Loggers hope to add to their winning streak as they travel to Jefferson College Friday for a 5:30 pm tip-off. You can find a list of schedules, stats, and watch future games under the ‘Sports’ tab Lincoln Land Loggers.
