SPRINGFIELD – The Lincoln Land Community College Big Band, under the direction of Jane Hartman, professor of music, will present a “Jazzin’ for Jack” concert on Monday, May 11, 7:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, 700 South sixth Street.
Donations will be taken at the concert to help CFC International. It works to improve the quality of life for those with Cardiofaciocutaneous (CFC) Syndrome through family support, research and education.
The LLCC Big Band will perform vintage selections, such as “Pennsylvania 65000,” “Misty,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and “Sing Sing Sing,” along with funk charts “September” and “Shining Star.”
Featured LLCC student performers are Courtney Fleck, soloist; Kevin Carman, guitarist and Alex Lang, trombonist.
