Originally opening on March 31, 1889 the Eiffel Tower was built for the sole purpose of a International Exhibition in Paris. Commemorating the centenary of the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution. The Eiffel Tower’s blueprints were chosen over 100 others and was then built by bridge engineer Gustave Eiffel. Today about 6.9 million visitors go to France to visit the 984 foot tower. Whether it’s standing alone in the sunshine or lit up with the shadows of night, which ever way you look at it the Eiffel Tower is beautiful and very picturesque to these tourists and locals alike. It took two years, two months and five days to build the magnificent tower and was well worth it. Today when people visit this romantic city their sure to get a selfie with the huge tower somewhere in the scene.
