Did you miss the ACMs (American Country Music) Awards? Then you missed some good country music.
With singers from Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, Tim Mc Graw, Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, Eric Church, a new duet single by Chris Young & Cassadee Pope and many more; the night was hopping.
Although it just got hotter with the collaboration of Dolly Pardon and Katy Perry singing hits of Pardon’s. Ending with her famous “9 to 5” single.
But it seemed that every time an award was given Chris Stapleton was standing to pick it up.
Stapleton who attended Vanderbilt University where he studied engineering, and stopped after just a year. Was looking to launch his music career. So he moved to Nashville and hadn’t been living in Nashville to long when he signed with Publishing House Sea Gayle music in 2001. Stapleton was in the Steeldrivers band in 2007 but, left in 2010. Finally playing with the band Jompson Brothers. They ended up opening for The Zach Brown Band.
When he signed with Mercury Nashville in 2013 he hoped his solo career would take off. But when Stapleton’s first single was releases the company decided not to release the album because the public didn’t react the way they had planned.
Then Stapleton released his newest album called “Traveller” on May 5, 2015 which received very positive reviews.
He has had several collaborations and one that only helped boost his career was one with Justin Timberlake. In 2015 they joined on the stage in a George Jones song: “Tennessee Whiskey”. Then sang a song of JT’s called “Drink you away”.
Stapleton the big winner of the night received of the following Awards: Best Country Album, Best Country Performance, Male vocalist of the year, Artist of the year, Album of the year, New male vocalist of the year.
