At least 9 have been confirmed dead from a earthquake that hit Kumamoto, Kyushu, Japan.
Experts say they may feel aftershocks for hours, days or even weeks. So the people should expect that.
Around 9:30 p.m. on April 15th the quake hit. Leaving around 40,000 to spend the night in temporary shelters that were set up in designated area through out the city.
A Skinkansen bullet train was knocked off its rail while caused it to be out of service.
In Kumamoto which is located South of Korea Strait has been hit before with strong quakes.
In 2011 a 9.0 quake started a chain reacted which led to a powerful tsunami and eventually led to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plants melt down. People gathered all over the city in wide open areas like parking lots and parks for their safety.
Kumamoto which has around 700,000 people were happy that the damage was minimal. Although there were parts of the 15th century Black Castle that were damaged.
The electric company Kyushu had reported that there were no problems at the two reactors which are about 75 miles South West of Mashiki.
