SPRINGFIELD – Lincoln Land Community College will honor veterans at its 19th annual Veterans Day Ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 11. The reception begins at noon, followed by the ceremony at 12:30 p.m. in the A. Lincoln Commons on the Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.
The public is invited to attend.
The American Legion Post 759 Family Color Guard will post the colors and LLCC staff member Doris Williams will sing the national anthem.
State Representative and LLCC Trustee Wayne Rosenthal, retired Brigadier General of the Illinois Air National Guard, is serving as master of ceremonies.
LLCC student Corporal Chelsea Vance, U.S. Marine Corps, will speak, and LLCC student Ally Dodd will perform Taps .
The ceremony is sponsored by the LLCC Student Life Office and honors all veterans including LLCC faculty, staff and students who served in the Armed Forces.
